What does freedom mean to you?
Freedom to me means that my past no longer defines who I am or is what I use to measure my worth. Freedom means that I now know who I am in Christ regardless of my past, my faults, or my failures. It means the enemy no longer has power over my life because I am a child of God!
Why did you pursue the Women in Freedom Photoshoot?
Because it was an opportunity to share what God has done in my life.
Share a bit about your personal story and where you are today. In what ways have you stepped into your freedom recently?
I get like my mistakes are what kept me from stepping into God’s calling on my life. I now realize that my focusing on my failures and my past, and letting that be what dictated what I was called to do is what kept me from my calling. Now my focus is on pursuing God and bringing him glory, which is why I am now able to lead a ministry for the next generation with a confidence that I was made for this because of who God is!
How has this experience shaped the way you see yourself?
This gave me an outward confidence I didn’t know I had. It matches the inside now.
How has this life of freedom had a positive impact on you?
It has changed how I see myself and my life. I can see God in everything instead of where I fall short. I still fail, but because of God my failures no longer keep me from pushing forward toward God.
What was the most meaningful aspect of this photoshoot to you?
Just being able to see the outward really express all that I feel inside. Beauty, confidence, hope, joy, and peace.
How do you plan to hold onto this feeling of unique freedom?
My plan is to continue to pursue God and all that He has for me. My freedom isn’t based on my situation or circumstances, it is based on who God is, and as long as I stay close to Him, I stay free!
